Peek inside this charming cabin getaway: it’s simplified living at its finest

January 11, 2016

We often dream of weekend getaways to romantic and relaxing locations as a way to remove ourselves from the stresses of everyday life. But what exactly qualifies as an “escape?” This varies depending on the person, but recently, there’s a growing trend of “tiny” homes.

“Tiny” homes are becoming the ideal getaway and escape location for the average person, and when you see the photos below, it’s easy to see why.

Canoe Bay Company is a lodge complex located in Wisconsin. It’s an ideal resort for couples and families looking to relax and getaway from their normal lives.

Canoe Bay is the pioneer of the ESCAPE model home which is a minimalistic home that helps streamline and simplify life. The idea is to reduce life down to what matters most.

The ESCAPE home is 400 square feet, and each home is located in an secluded area on a 300 acre plot of land. There are no distractions around the home, which makes it easier for residents to focus on the simple things in life. This is a great way to reconnect with Mother Nature and your surroundings!

An ESCAPE home might look like a tiny cabin, but in reality, its a portable home. The ESCAPE home is technically an RV that can be transported everywhere. This enables you to take this simple and efficient way of living virtually anywhere you would like.

Roaming and touring the country in an RV might sound dull and tiring, but what if you could travel in an ESCAPE home? I’d sign up for that!

At first, you might think that 400 living square feet is rather small and won’t fit your needs, but a growing number of people are realizing its the right size. If you think about what you need to survive, do you really need thousands of square feet and extra space?

The ESCAPE home reduces a normal home to the bare essentials. There’s a full kitchen, a bathroom, and a bedroom. They even threw in a fireplace and a dining/living room for a little extra space.

 What more do you need?

Another bonus of living in a tiny home is the saved money on utilities. Powering a 400 square feet home is much easier and cheaper than a typical home. People are opting to live efficiently in order to say money. This money can go to education, retirement, your kids, and paying off loans.

According to the The Tiny Life,  “For most Americans, 1/3 to 1/2 of their income is dedicated to the roof over their heads; this translates to 15 years of working over your lifetime just to pay for it, and because of it, 76% of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck.”

While bigger homes are the dream, it’s not a necessity.

The average home in America is 2,600 square feet. That’s a lot to maintain and pay for.

But take a look at this 400 square feet home. Do you honestly think you need a huge home after seeing this? I find it difficult to convince myself.

The Tiny Movement is a growing trend in American, and people are gradually adopting it. Living small does not mean you can’t live without style!

The ESCAPE home has “all-natural materials with an eco-conscious and energy-efficient design.”

It comes fully equipped with full-sized appliances, an open floor plan, and large windows. It feels a lot bigger than just 400 square feet.

If this home is not for you, you can always upgrade your home. The ESCAPE home comes in a variety of layouts, sizes, and features.

Living the simple life can say you time, money, and stress!
